Diagnosed with a rare bone cancer that could only be treated with a bone marrow transplant, the author leaned on God and gave up control of the disease. While in ICU, another cancer patient asked Bill “How can you be so calm?” This is the author’s story of how the challenges of finding a donor, undergoing a transplant, and being faced with immune system rejection sharpened his resolve, strengthened his faith, and drew him closer to God. He learned to listen to God, accept his challenges as opportunities, and understand how there is joy in suffering.

Bill Greenwade was born in McAllen, Texas and went to school from second grade to graduation from high school in the small town of Refugio, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1975.

This story of hope, perseverance, and faith will encourage readers to give control to God, but never give up.
